A path leads over the Teufelskopf along the ridge, the rocky side of which drops steeply to the Simmerbach.

The Goßberg towers above the surrounding fields at 483 meters and was formerly a US radar base and was excavated 30 meters deep during the Cold War and a nuclear bunker built to house the "Metro Tango" control center. This "gipfel" or peak is very easy to reach. It's only a few meters from the given pathways, and is easy to hike up to, although you do have to be careful since the ground is very stoney, and moss covered. Although there is not much of a view from up there because of all of the trees, it is one of the highest points in the Hunsrück and fun to have been on top. Next to the peak is also an ancient Grenzstein, or border stone that can be of interest. The peak also is the county line between two German counties.

The Goßberg, a hilltop today 494 meters high, has housed a radar system for the US armed forces since 1956. From 1984 to 1989 this was expanded into a 30-meter-deep nuclear bomb-proof bunker, which was never put into operation. https://www.kuladig.de/Objektansicht/O-132609-20150720-2
