This biotope of approx. 1 hectare of water surface and 3 hectares of natural surface on the outskirts of Allenbach in the direction of Erbeskopf is entirely under the sign of nature conservation. Boat trips, fishing and swimming are therefore not allowed.

The "Historische Weiherschleife" - actually Kallwiesweiherschleife - remained in operation with interruptions until 1945. It then threatened to disintegrate, but was restored in 1953/54. After a renewed renovation and partial renewal in 1996/97, it is open again for visits. It is the last agate grinding mill on the Idarbach to be driven by a waterwheel. On the large sandstone grinding wheels, the expert tour guides demonstrate live the processing methods of earlier centuries. The Allenbach pond is located on the outskirts of Allenbach. A circular route leads around it, a Kneipp treading pool invites you to cool down your feet. The dream loop 'Between the Forests' also starts at the pond.

Very nice, but has seen better times. Also, the swimming pool in the pyramid has a great architecture, but should urgently be modernized.
