8월 20, 2024, Treiser Schock Summit Cross
The descent from here is OK, the cross itself is, as Danger Willi says, just a cross. The path from the Schockhütte to the cross is barely recognizable.

A cross - that's the highest point, but otherwise there's nothing special here. The reward is just a cool descent waiting for you.

3월 3, 2022, Goßberg, ehemaliger Bunker
The Goßberg towers above the surrounding fields at 483 meters and was formerly a US radar base and was excavated 30 meters deep during the Cold War and a nuclear bunker built to house the "Metro Tango" control center. However, the facility never went into operation and was abandoned at the end of the 1980s. For now... Read more: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go%C3%9Fberg_%28Hunsr%C3%BCck%29

“Each of these crosses can tell its own story and what motivated people to erect“ their ”cross at this point. (...) These crossroads were erected as visible signs and attract the eyes of many people. The cross is a symbol of life. It stands as a sign of our Christian hope and wants to direct our gaze to Jesus Christ, who overcame death (...). The cross is part of our life, just as it was part of the life of Jesus. So I hope that many people ... visit the crossroads, whether as places of silence and breathing before God, whether as places of congregation meeting, prayer and praise of God. " (Text source: Dean Rainald M. Ollig in: “Crossroads. Small sacred monuments as a sign of popular piety ")

View of the Brodenbachtal The Brodenbach is 8.2 km long and rises 372 m above sea level in the Buchholz district, from where it flows west through the narrow valley to the mouth of the Moselle. Up to the confluence of the Lehnscheider Bach, the stream is also called Ohlenbach. The narrowest section of the Brodenbachtal is known as Donnerloch. A cascade group that has only been preserved in parts since it was blown up in the 1960s for a forestry path. Only short streams flow into the Brodenbach on both sides. From the direction of Udenhausen comes the 0.9 km long Lehnscheider Bach, the 1.3 km long Höllebach, the 1.1 km long Mühlhöller Bach, the 2.8 km long Kohlbach, the 1.2 km long Seifenbach, the 0.8 km long long Rempfadbach and the 1.1 km long Nickelsbach. The 0.9 km long Bickelbach, the 0.9 km long Elmbach and the 1.9 km long Herschbach flow from the direction of Herschwiesen. Source: Text Indotablet

6월 5, 2021, Treiser Schock Summit Cross
The Treiser Schock (426m) rises south of Treis. The landscape around Treiser's local mountain was designated as the Treiser Schock nature reserve as early as 1940. A legend revolves around the Treiser shock. A giant is said to have thrown stones here. The only protection against it were shiny stones from a hermit.

A wooden cross rises above the large quartzite rock near Wiebelsheim, which is criss-crossed by (walled up) tunnels. The rock was freed from overgrown vegetation in 2018/19 so that it can now be clearly seen. The annual Martinsfeuer with parades take place on the rock, so that there numerous fire spots and wood kept in front of them give a rather neglected impression. But you have a nice view of Wiebelsheim.

The Goßberg, a hilltop today 494 meters high, has housed a radar system for the US armed forces since 1956. From 1984 to 1989 this was expanded into a 30-meter-deep nuclear bomb-proof bunker, which was never put into operation. https://www.kuladig.de/Objektansicht/O-132609-20150720-2
