One of the three stalactite caves in the Bitburg-Prüm district is located on the Holsthum/Peffingen border. It is a high calcareous sinter cliff through which a small stream flows. A staircase leads up the Huwelslay stream. At the bottom of the path, a little to the side, you can climb up the rock to a bench in the rock. Lime sinter rocks on the western slope of the heath ridge between Holsthum and Peffingen. The name stands for Eulenfelsen (huwel => owl, lay => rock).

The stairs that lead past this small cave can be found directly at the bridge that leads to the castle. It is worth taking this route. Steep rock walls impress. Walk carefully! The cave is only 1-2 m deep, but you can stand inside. Inside a small brick place of worship.
