I never would have expected to find this beautiful spot here. The gorge isn't really that big, but it's so beautiful here; you feel like you're in another world. You can sit on a bench and enjoy the silence; only the sounds of nature and the faint sound of traffic can be heard, but you have to ignore that. A true gem 🥰 that I highly recommend.

Be careful when wet, the steps are slippery

The path was restored and reopened in September 2023.

Completely dried up in the summer of 2023 and partly very destroyed by the flood 2 years ago. But you can still walk the path well. You should be sure-footed and not afraid of heights. Not recommended with small children and anxious dogs. (if someone comes towards you, you don't always have space to avoid) If you like rocks, you'll like it without water!

Great waterfalls to look at, but difficult to get to as there is no direct route to get there. So you kind of have to find your own way down the slope. There is no path along the Mausbach either. In addition, you have to be careful where you step. In addition, exploring is only connected with climbing over (sometimes also slippery) stones and boulders, as well as up and down the slope! Sturdy shoes and sure-footedness are absolutely necessary! It is also advisable to take a second person with you to be on the safe side in the event of an emergency!

Update September 2023: Tanzlay hiking trail has been reopened. In addition, a bridge that was washed away in 2021 was rebuilt down by the river, so that you can do a nice circular hike of 8-10 km. Condition report from February no longer applies (except no water, still damp) Almost no water in February, but still a bit muddy. Descent from the waterfall is rather very difficult. Impressive and interesting in places. I would not recommend it as a hiking route.
