The Via Jutlandica follows the course of the Ox Trail. This historic land route was used to drive cattle from Jutland to the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein. It was also an important pilgrimage route in the Middle Ages, on which pilgrims from northern Europe moved to Rome or Santiago.
