You would almost miss it, but the Wolfsschlucht has a special significance. In the 17th century, the people of Upper Palatinate suffered from a plague of wolves. To counteract this, traps, known as wolf pits, were set up, which is what the name of the gorge still reminds us of today.

If you stand in front of the annex you have a wonderful view. You should make sure that it really goes downhill quite a bit. Especially with children who like to run ahead.

The slope begins directly on the Kulmstein. Since there is no backup, this is dangerous in rain or fog.

Nice hiking route along the Leraubach, in some places surefootedness is required. The Leraubach meanders through the Lerau valley in a wild and romantic way, sometimes small waterfalls form and the "eternal rushing" of the creek can be heard along the whole route.

Here in the Wolfslohklamm the rounded granite blocks can be found in heaps. However, the name Klamm is misleading, it is more of a notch valley. From above you have a good view of the Leraubach.
