The Bechthaler Weiher is located in the idyllic Anlautertal below the castle ruins, approx. 300 m as the crow flies east of Bechthal. The Anlauter flows past on the south side. The water area is approximately 1.5 hectares and has an average depth of 2 meters. The swimming stream was dammed up below the small town of Appenstetten to form an idyllic (bathing?) lake. You can walk all the way around it. The shore area has been mowed and, in addition to a large wooden platform, offers sunny and shady places to rest, but no benches.
