The pond is idyllically situated in the forest in the upper Steimketal and is beautiful to look at.

Completely "polluted" with water lettuce. No water to be seen anymore. Visually impressive but not good for flora and fauna. Still a very nice destination with a bench and shelter

The pond turtle mainly eats animal food ( worms, snails, insects, spiders, fish and their fry and carrion). Swamp turtles are the only turtles native to Germany. Their existence is endangered because the natural biotopes are being destroyed.
