This was once the site of the Raben swimming pool, which was no longer used and fell into disrepair. But then the rare alpine newts discovered the remaining concrete pool and found that it was ideal for raising their young. From that moment on, they used it to spawn in the spring and conservationists made the previously steep concrete walls more accessible for the newts. There is also a shady shelter here and more information about the place next door.
