The Trout Pond is one of the ponds 'in the forest.' It is fed by several springs close to the pond (to the west) and also by a spring a few hundred meters southwest. From there, the water flows via a small waterfall into the Horseshoe Pond and then into the Nieplitz River.

A very nice rest area, also for larger groups. From there it only takes an hour to the train station.

All ponds in the Nieplitztal go back to human activity. The Reichhelms-Teich was created around 1900. Karl Reichhelm, forest owner, dentist, local historian and photographer from Treuenbrietzen, laid it out. The inflowing water for the Reichhelms-Teich comes from a nearby spring area. At the end, the water flows back to the Nieplitz via dams.
