The castle with its structural fabric mainly from the 16th-19th centuries. Century was one of the residences of the Isenburg counts. After the fire of 1939, only a few rooms were still usable, from 1978 this rest was also empty and fell into disrepair. From 2016, an elaborate reconstruction was carried out for use as the town hall of the city of Wächtersbach. The city administration has been located here since 2020.
