Nice farm shop, well stocked and with seating.

Birkenplatz and Birkenhütte are a beautiful landmark in Rüdershausen. We stumbled upon this lovingly maintained rest area by chance and used it for a break during a bike ride. The entire complex is beautifully designed, with plenty of seating and restrooms. What's striking these days is that there are no signs of vandalism. 👍

The visit is worth it

Interesting - but unfortunately closed. You should start the tour here in the parking lot opposite the hut and save yourself the torture through Ritterhude, ohz and endlessly along the country road(s). - - - - - - - The rest is... unfortunately... even though I always pay attention to my choice of words... SHIT. Sorry, but that applies to a large part of the tour. I would never do this bike tour again and I wonder how the tour ended up on Komoot. You ride on country roads... and through old main roads, e.g. in OHZ... that's suboptimal even on a public holiday. In addition, there are driving instructions at Tietjens hut.... under no circumstances turn left (and drive right under the bridge) instead turn right at the top of the bridge... where there has definitely never been a turning option in the last 40 years. You have therefore left the route in such a way that you have to turn back. There is no alternative route.

The former accommodation for peat boatmen is now operated as a restaurant with regional cuisine.
