Lake Prebersee lies at an elevation of 1,514 meters in the middle of a moorland and nature reserve. It covers approximately 5.4 hectares and is up to 10 meters deep. Its dark brown, peaty water is particularly notable.

Many people take photos of the Preber's reflection in the lake. However, something even more spectacular takes place here in the summer: water target shooting. Instead of aiming directly at a target, the shooter aims at its reflection in the water. The projectile is then supposed to ricochet off the water's surface and hit the target. Beautiful easy hike suitable for everyone

The Murtalbahn is as much a part of the Murau region as Murau beer, the Kreischberg or the legendary figure of Anna Neumann. It is not just the local public transport - the historic steam train is particularly recognizable, painting a picture of a long-gone railway era in the Upper Mur Valley. On a route of 64 km (narrow gauge: track width 760 mm) directly along the Mur, between Unzmarkt, Murau (Styria) and Tamsweg (Salzburg), you can enjoy a train experience like it's in the books! The route is the second longest narrow gauge railway in Austria after the Mariazell Railway.
