During the construction of the railway line between Flöha and Freiberg at the end of the 19th century, a piece of the slope at the foot of the mountain was removed. This threw the natural system out of balance and led to a major landslide in 1897. Since then, people have called this area “Rutsch” or “Wandering Mountain”. Today there is a small shelter and benches above here. Unfortunately, the view is only special from the edge, because the trees at the hut are now too high. But a hike along here is still worth it. Also easy to connect with the old limestone caves nearby.

Armed conflicts and their consequences also influenced Mulda. In 1634, Swedish troops marched through the town, pillaging, pillaging and murdering. In addition to many buildings, the church was also cremated. As a result of the chaos of war, the plague broke out in Mulda and claimed numerous victims. A little wood in the hallway of the church, the plague cemetery, still bears witness to this today. During the siege of the city of Freiberg in the Thirty Years' War, Swedish troops set up military camps on the heights between Mulda and Lichtenberg in 1639, which is what the name "Schwedenhöhe" is reminiscent of.
