The Kaltenhof is 100 m above the Main, within sight of Schweinfurt, on a mountain spur and the southern foothills of the Schweinfurt Rhön. This hill is bounded in the south by the steep valley of the Main and in the west by the deep valley of the Meerbach, in which the Schonunger district of Mainberg is located.
