There has been a new summit cross on the Hochsalm since 2023

The Hochberghaus near Grünau in the Almtal (Salzkammergut) stands above everyday life with a fabulous view that extends over the Almtal to the Innviertel. Here you can unwind, recharge your batteries and let children be children. The Hochberghaus is located directly on the family run in the Kasberg winter sports region, a stop at the famous hearty Almpfandln is essential in winter. In summer, the Hochberghaus is a base for hikers, mountaineers and those looking for relaxation, as well as a starting point for beautiful hikes in the Dead Mountains. The kitchen presents itself as tasty and fine. You can enjoy crispy salads and herbs from the Almtal on the sun terrace. From here the view sweeps over the summit of the Traunstein and the foothills of the Alps to Bavaria. Incidentally, in the upper third of the road to the Hochberghaus is the "Du-Stein" at exactly 1,000m. From here, according to Alpine custom, you can be on first name terms with everyone. So that one does not erroneously remain formal, the Du-Stein on Bergstraße Farrenau reminds of this custom.
