The lake in Seestadt Aspern is the central design element of the new district. Artificially created, it serves as both the visual and landscape centerpiece of the neighborhood and a place for leisure and recreation. Promenades, cycle paths, and footpaths encircle the lake, making it easily accessible and inviting people to stroll, jog, or cycle. With its green spaces, shoreline, and small jetties, the lake offers a natural atmosphere in the heart of the city and is already a popular meeting place for residents and visitors of Seestadt.

Quiet place in a beautiful riparian forest

The Danube-Oder Canal, also known as the Oder-Danube Canal, is a projected artificial waterway from the Lobau in Vienna via the March through Moravia to the Oder near Cosel in Upper Silesia, which was not completed. The project is part of the European waterway E 30, which is intended to connect the Baltic Sea with the Danube and the Black Sea. Canal basins II and III are also referred to by the city of Vienna as the two-way channel and the three-way channel.

Everything super new from the ground, but the lake has become really beautiful. I even observed a family of swans there today.

I've only been there once, but there was still construction everywhere. I've finally managed to do it. How gorgeous it all turned out. Either way, the lake is awesome! The color of the water, gorgeous!

The heart of Seestadt is the approx. 50,000 m² large lake in the park, which is almost as large. With sparkling blue, clear water, green waterfront facilities and a promenade, it makes Seestadt unmistakable. It is a popular meeting place - and not just for Seestadt residents.
