The Maramboi Tented Lodge is the best place in East Africa. The lodge has an amazing ambience with small apartments that are designed like a tent, but still like an apartment with totally luxurious furnishings. It's amazing to swim in the pool directly opposite the lake. A great location for a great holiday in close proximity to wild animals 👌

Around the village of Nkoansiyo, King'ori you suddenly cycle between a series of small waters in the otherwise dry-looking surroundings. Despite the many buildings, some game shot across the street when I cycled here, a kind of goat. In the meantime you have a beautiful view of Mount Kilimanjaro, which makes this a surprisingly nice piece.

At the bottom of the fence you might wonder where you are, but once on top of the hill, at the bar, everything is clear at once. A beautiful view over the lake and the beautiful Mount Meru in the background. Especially beautiful at sunrise. With a bit of luck you can also see flamingos, which are there in large numbers.

We rode this trail from Lake Chala up towards the ring road around Mount Kilimanjaro. The trail starts at the camp at Lake Chala as a single track. After a few kilometers you cycle between the farms and the road becomes a bit wider. In the meantime the road goes up more and more, with beautiful views behind you. Towards the east this will certainly also be a beautiful descent.

This fast and sometimes technical descent does require your attention to prevent accidents. However, you fly wonderfully over the road and the reward is double. On the one hand during the descent the beautiful view towards Kenya in the east, on the other hand Laka Chala at the end, a beautiful crater lake.

Lake Chala is a beautiful place on the border of Tanzania and Kenya to stay overnight or stop for the beautiful view. At the edge of the crater lake is a bar with a view. A perfect place to stay overnight.

There is a cenot on site where it is possible to snorkel. There is also a good restaurant. Entry is 40,000 Tsh

The Momela Lakes are a series of smaller lakes in Arusha National Park. They are located in the northeast of the park and are only partly filled with water all year round. The Momella lakes are saline. They are mainly fed by groundwater and are characterized by a high fluorine content. The lakes were formed when a violent eruption of Mount Meru about 6000 years ago caused the east wall of the crater to collapse and a stream of water, mud and rocks spilled east into the steppe.
