The Donnerschlucht Gorge is currently closed, and you have to walk along the road instead. It's better to plan a completely different route.

The path is great. Always close to the Leisnitz. It is difficult for new hikers at first. You just have to take breaks more often. And there can be cows in the way. The Bonner Alm is very beautifully situated but needs to improve on the food. But on the way back we made a detour to the Schlögl mountain inn. The mountain inn is recommended. Game enclosure, plus llamas, pedal cars for children, and there is also a sauna. The food is also great.

Now that the Punschkuchl team from Tulln has taken over the hut, it is hipper, a bit more alternative and much more loving than other huts. You can go SUP, at 8 there is yoga with a view of the Hafner and the breakfast buffet is absolutely amazing.

Currently (August 2024) the Donnerschlucht is closed. The rain has washed away the stream banks.

If you want to swim here, be prepared that the temperatures here are not Caribbean....😉

Beautiful hiking trail via the 'pilzenweg', then via a spicy forest path to Glückplatzl (waterfall). Then quiet road, with a beautiful babbling brook, to the Granglerhütte!
