The Mostalm is permanently closed and no longer operates as a refreshment stop. The building is empty and now serves only as a landmark for hikers exploring the Vienna Woods. Please observe all barriers and signs on site and use other huts or inns for your breaks.

This is a great place to take a leisurely break on a hike through the beautiful Vienna Woods.

You can also take a leisurely walk up here with children from Schwarzenberg Park. Bring a snack with you - there is no restaurant.

The Hameau (French: hamlet) is a hill in the municipality of Hernals. Simple huts were built there around 1800, which were called “Holländerdörfl” because, according to the Dutch model, a tree was planted in front of each hut. Today there is nothing left of it, there is only a shelter at the Hameau.

The Hameau is a 464 m high hill in the 17th district of Hernals in Vienna on the border with the Lower Austrian town of Klosterneuburg. Its round summit marks the highest point in the Neuwaldegg district. The Hameau is only ten centimeters lower than the Heuberg in the Dornbach district, the highest elevation in the Hernals district. The meadow and the shelter at the Hameau are on city hiking trail 3 in the Vienna Woods. For my taste, one of the most beautiful, casual huts in the Vienna Woods.

Always interesting to come by here. The house in the middle of the forest, a meadow to romp around and lots of benches to rest. And of course, off to the Roan Trail, which starts right here.
