Be sure to take the short but crisp climb to Kirchle after the Alploch Gorge. It's really worth it. The atmosphere in the limestone caves is great!

Hiking trails may be closed from time to time due to landslides, sometimes with lengthy detours.

The Kuhloch is a dry gorge that was formed by the Alvierbach stream about 13,000 years ago.

At about the highest point and almost halfway through the tour, the Kobelalpe invites you to linger, with a great view! Overall, a very nice tour.

If you walk the loop through the Bürser Gorge, you won't find such large rocks again here. Very impressive and narrow to walk through.

Difficult to find from St. Arbogast if you don't get the right direction straight away, which can easily happen as there is no sign pointing to the cave. I ended up in the Örfla Gorge, it was nice too. You probably have to walk back along the road from St. Arbogast along Kalkofenweg, the name should actually be clue enough. Will try that soon too. Anyone who wants to can accompany me, whether young or old ;-)

Kuhloch Natural Monument This natural monument consists of Bürser Conglomerate and is now a dry gorge. The sinkholes and detached rock tower still show the curves created by the water (scours).[3] The gorge and sinkholes were created approximately 13,000 years ago at the end of the last Ice Age by the Alvier River, which only flowed here briefly before shifting towards the present-day Bürser Gorge and further eroding it. At that time, the Brandnertal Valley was already ice-free, and the Ill Glacier was still present in the Walgau. The rock walls are a good 10 meters high and, due to the unstable Bürser Conglomerate, did not last long. Text / Source: Regiowiki At https://regiowiki.at/wiki/Kuhloch

This cave is a must... if only because of the stone formation, the grain of the stone and of course this great acoustics, it is highly recommended, the climb is definitely worth it

The lime kiln cave was exposed in the course of the construction work for the Rhine Valley motorway. The bottom of the cave is two meters below the current valley floor. It was created around 10,000 years ago by the water of the original Lake Constance and later closed by the gravel of the Rhine. Stalactites and sintered tubes formed inside. The cave was opened on February 3rd, 1971 and in the next few days all stalactites were destroyed and stolen. Today the entrance to the cave is hidden behind a small pile of gravel - but can be visited. In the meantime, the first very small stalactites have formed again. (Source: Natur z'Koblach)
