Always worth a trip

In parts it is quite narrow and mostly next to the main road. After heavy rainfall, small sections are currently (Sept. 24) closed due to falling rocks.

The once mighty Landskron Castle, which had existed since the 13th century at the latest and was rebuilt in the course of the 16th century, was completely destroyed in the devastating town fire of 1792. Today, the remains of the wall surround a romantic plateau that offers a wonderful view of the city and its surroundings - from here you can really see the most beautiful city panorama. A walk along the paths up here is one of the most popular “city hikes” in all of Upper Styria.

An absolutely beautiful highlight! If you are in Kapfenberg or the surrounding area, you should definitely visit Oberkapfenberg Castle! Shortly after the castle there is a narrow single trail (at the sign "to HTL" down to Kapfenberg. Instead of the asphalt on the road 😏

The medieval Oberkapfenberg Castle stands on the castle hill of Kapfenberg. From up here you have a wonderful view of Kapfenberg and the rest of the area nearby. There is also a restaurant in the castle. There is an asphalt road leading up (WARNING: STEEP (not for beginners!!)). Just a few minutes' walk away is the Loreto Chapel (beautifully decorated with a beautiful view too😉). Up here you can really relax and recharge your batteries👍.
