The Eisriesenwelt (Eisriesenwelt) is a magnificent, impressive ice world within the mountain that is overwhelming. At 42 km in length, it is the largest ice cave in the world. A visit is highly recommended. Check beforehand whether you can handle it, as some of the climbs and descents are quite steep.

The trail is spectacular, with fantastic views. There's a place to stop for refreshments at the cable car station. There's a small shop and snack bar at the valley station.

I've already seen toilets that are great integrated into the rock in a number of ski huts. But they were kind of special. In the cave you can not only do your business close to the giant ice world, but you can also see the fossils.

Maybe very interesting for us girls 😉. Shortly before the cave entrance, there is an entrance on the right that was carved into the rock. In the large, created room there are on the one hand the toilets and on the other hand a board with an explanation of the megalodonts found in the stone (huge, petrified shells)

I recommend reserving the tickets online. It has a couple of advantages. You can park above with online tickets, otherwise you will be taken from the parking lot below with a shuttle to the top. The online tickets are even cheaper than normal tickets and you have a separate entrance in the Eisriesenwelt building at check-in. With the Eisriesenwelt ticket you get a 20% discount on entry to Hohenwerfen Castle with the falconry (flight demonstration)
