The view can be enjoyed in the winter months. When the trees are green again, it's hard to see. The bank is not the newest, but still quite ok. Here you can take a break in peace, since there are only a few people here. The way here is worth it just because of the beautiful sandstone cliffs that you pass. Gottfriedsruh represents the summit of the Rothenberg at 420 m above sea level. From there you have a wonderful view over the Palatinate Forest to the Trifels (which I did not see because I was fascinated by the lizards.)
