The Ibacher Schliff consists of red sandstone rocks

A gully is a steep gully that originates in the summit area and is only found in sandstone in this form. These gullies are feared in heavy rain. They carry a lot of water and debris. There are five such gullies in the Renchtal, one of which is the Bollenbacher gully (see the gully in the photos) - the gully through which the Bollenbach flows. There is also, of course, a rocky path, cairns, etc. that are located near the gully.

The Ibacher Schliff is a section of the Schwarzwaldsteig. Caution is advised here, especially in heavy rain - hiking through it is then difficult or not recommended.
