Between Greiz and Elsterberg, the White Elster forms a wild, romantic valley in the area of the mouth of the Göltzsch river and further in the direction of Rothenthal. No hiker staying in this region should miss the steep, rocky slopes. This section is quite rightly called the Rothenthal Alps.
