A pretty, narrow hiking trail, a little above the river "Große Nister". One could describe it as "wild and romantic" - which might sound kitschy to some.

In rain or snow, the descent in the Holzbach Gorge is very slippery. It is better in dry weather. But great gorge.

The Holzbach gorge near Hachenburg, also known as the small Holzbach gorge, is a rustic path with steep stairs in the middle of the forest, which ensures safe access thanks to alpine irons. The hiking trail leads along the Holzbach, which gives it its name. Its namesake is the actual Holzbach Gorge near Seck.

Beautiful path through nature above the Nister. Steep passages with alpine steps, narrow places with wire ropes to hold on to and impassable ascents and descents require fitness, sure-footedness and sturdy shoes.
