At 18,380ft, Khardung La is one of the highest motorable roads in the world. The climb from Leh Market to the top is 38km. You can refuel at South Pullu which is 14km before the summit.

I can only confirm. 35 years ago I was alone in this area with my MTB for 3 months. A lot has changed 10 years later. Unfortunately way too many tourists and rubbish etc. Well ...
