The trail is still closed (7/25), but you can easily bypass this section via a forest road/sports field/hiking trail and meet the original route again at the Pitzbach Bridge

As of June 2025, the trail is still completely closed. You can also take a nice walk along the sports field. However, all access points to the trail are blocked.

In the Taschach Gorge, which is close to the Pitztal Glacier Cable Car, there is a beautiful, varied ice climbing garden with easy, artificially created routes. There are also some mixed routes secured with bolts.

The Pitze, which gives the Pitztal its name, often flows as a picturesque stream, quite calm and comfortable, but in the Pitze Gorge it has something wild about it due to the steep gradient.

From here you can also get to the Taschach Gorge. However, this path leads over water. If you don't have waterproof shoes, you should use our other highlight as a way to get started. This is on the opposite side. It's best to start with a helmet (highly recommended), gaiters (if there is a lot of snow) and Grödeln (safe grip on snow and ice).

Entrance to Taschachschlucht. Do not enter in mild weather or rapid temperature changes. Helmets, gaiters and gaiters are recommended and should be taken with you, even if you may not need gaiters and gaiters after all. Helmet is highly recommended because of the path through icicles and snow.
