The trail is still closed (7/25), but you can easily bypass this section via a forest road/sports field/hiking trail and meet the original route again at the Pitzbach Bridge

8월 27, 2024, Entrance to Taschach Gorge
In the Taschach Gorge, which is close to the Pitztal Glacier Cable Car, there is a beautiful, varied ice climbing garden with easy, artificially created routes. There are also some mixed routes secured with bolts.

The Pitze, which gives the Pitztal its name, often flows as a picturesque stream, quite calm and comfortable, but in the Pitze Gorge it has something wild about it due to the steep gradient.

From here you can also get to the Taschach Gorge. However, this path leads over water. If you don't have waterproof shoes, you should use our other highlight as a way to get started. This is on the opposite side. It's best to start with a helmet (highly recommended), gaiters (if there is a lot of snow) and Grödeln (safe grip on snow and ice).

12월 27, 2023, Entrance to Taschach Gorge
Entrance to Taschachschlucht. Do not enter in mild weather or rapid temperature changes. Helmets, gaiters and gaiters are recommended and should be taken with you, even if you may not need gaiters and gaiters after all. Helmet is highly recommended because of the path through icicles and snow.

In the middle of the dense forest, a mountain stream finds its way into the valley - a truly enchanted hiking trail!

10월 18, 2023, Benni Raich Suspension Bridge
The Benni Raich suspension bridge, an impressive construction with an equally impressive view of the mountains in the distance as well as down into the gorge through which you recently hiked. The floor is opaque and easy to walk on, as is the railing halfway up, so you don't see too much for those who are afraid of heights. Everyone else can dare to step up to the railing and look down the 94m. At the ends there are information signs for anyone who visits the bridge for a supposedly not positive reason. Sad but important in my opinion! Tel: 142

Benjamin (Benni) Reich, born in Arzl, won a gold medal in slalom and giant slalom at the 2006 Winter Olympics as an Austrian alpine skier. ------------ In 2005, a pedestrian bridge between his birthplace Arzl im Pitztal and the Wald belonging to this municipality was named after Benni Raich. The bridge, which is 94 meters high and 138 meters long, is mainly used for bungee jumping. The village of Wald also attracts more tourists since this bridge was built there.

Great construction - at a dizzying height above the peak. You can also bungee here, but not today.

Beautiful 1-2 km long path - along the Pitze before it flows into the Inn.

Very nice climb along the river. Sometimes quite steep, sure-footedness and sturdy shoes are highly recommended, but also good to walk with smaller children. There are always good places to rest at the river / stream and splash around in the water.
