Benjamin (Benni) Reich, born in Arzl, won a gold medal in slalom and giant slalom at the 2006 Winter Olympics as an Austrian alpine skier. ------------ In 2005, a pedestrian bridge between his birthplace Arzl im Pitztal and the Wald belonging to this municipality was named after Benni Raich.
