This tunnel was built around 1735 to drain seepage water from the lead mines. Today, the now-disused tunnel serves as a home for bats. For this purpose, it was purchased by the Bürener Land Nature Conservation Association in 2016.

According to legend, a wooden image of Mary appeared to a shepherd at the present location of the miraculous image. When he took it to the pastor, it had disappeared the next day and could be found again at its current location on the Kleinen Berge. So they built her own sanctuary there. Kleinenberg developed into a popular place of pilgrimage, which is still used as such. The image of the Mother of God is in a Lourdes grotto that is beautifully landscaped. Many candles are burning in front of the miraculous image, creating a very special atmosphere, also in terms of temperature. A small park with a cup-shaped pond was designed for this purpose. A special Way of the Cross dedicated to the story of Mary leads to the sanctuary.
