Beautiful waterfall and a trail in very good condition. Only in this section there is no marked trail and you have to jump between rocks.

Seerenbach Falls and Rin Spring A natural spectacle near Betlis. With a drop of almost 600 m, the Seerenbach Falls are one of the highest waterfalls in Europe. At the same time, the middle waterfall, with a drop of 305 m, is considered one of the highest free-falling waterfalls in Switzerland. Immediately below the impact zone of the Seerenbach cascade, the Rin Spring emerges from the mountain and cascades over a 45 m high cliff into the Seerenbach River. The Rin Spring is one of the largest underground river systems in Europe. The water from the Rin Spring originates in the Toggenburg region and flows through the many kilometers-long cave system of the Churfirsten Mountains in just a few hours. During snowmelt and after heavy rainfall, up to 40,000 liters of water per second rush into the Seerenbach Gorge; during periods of low rainfall, the Rin Spring can even dry up. An impressive sight even in winter with little water. Be careful of breaking ice!

You should really come here when the Schreyenbach actually has water - this is only the case for 45 days a year, from June 18th to August 2nd when the waterfall can be admired in all its glory. (https://glarnerland.ch/de/map/detail/schreyenbachfall-d847ff81-2e0e-4fbe-8c5e-b68cbd4ce992.html)

Gsponbachfall The stream babbles along the edge of the forest and sings its eternal song. It brings me joy from the rock face, thank you, I love you so much. Text Kurt Küng 2001

The almost silent waterfall in Tierfed. The Schreyenbach Falls used to be a natural attraction known throughout Switzerland. Since 1964, with the commissioning of the Linth-Limmern power plant, he has fallen silent. One frame literally took his breath away. The water from the Fisetenbach, which rises in the canton of Uri and feeds the Schreyenbach Falls, is collected for the purpose of producing electricity, which means it is withheld from the Schreyenbach Falls. However, after objections, the natural spectacle can still be watched 45 days a year. The Schreyenbachfall presents its impressive natural spectacle every year between June and August. Feeding the Schreyenbach Falls: Start: June 18th 2:00 p.m. - End: August 2nd 2:00 p.m
