Upper Reservoir는 Glenasmole 계곡에서 가장 높은 곳에 위치한 호수이며, 아래쪽 이웃보다 훨씬 더 야생적이고 외딴 느낌을 줍니다. 남동쪽 해안의 이 지점에서, 당신은 더블린 산맥의 나무가 우거진 경사면이 깊고 어두운 물 속으로 직접 가라앉는 것처럼 보이는 수원지의 심장부로 깊숙이 들어가게 됩니다.

A spectacular hike that quickly takes you high above the Glendalough Valley. After about an hour, you'll find yourself standing 300m directly above the Upper Lake on an almost vertical cliff: extraordinary! First, it's a relatively steep climb through the forest on beautiful hiking trails, then you work your way uphill, then a section straight along the ridge of the Spinc, with fantastic views of the lakes repeatedly offered. It's breathtaking! At the end of the climb, you climb up again on wooden planks - very comfortable. Then it's a leisurely descent on wooden planks to the Glenealo River. You cross this at a bridge, then descend relatively steeply along the river. The last part of the hike leads very comfortably directly along the shore of the Upper Lake back to the parking lot. Our recommendations: - Be sure to do this hike during the week. The hiking trails in the Glendalough Valley are really crowded on weekends. - Hike the trail clockwise. This way, you'll get to the top faster and have a very pleasant second part. We found this to be ideal. - Next to the boardwalk right after the summit, a whole herd of deer including babies <3 was lying in the grass, just 5 meters from the hiking trail! - It only took us 2:30 hours to complete the entire route, but that was obviously relatively quick. - You need good hiking shoes, especially for the descending part along the Glenealo river.

The walkway along the Poulanass waterfall is beautifully laid out and easy to walk on even for inexperienced people.

As you traverse the Wicklow Way through Gleann Dá Loch, the landscape transitions between lush greenery, rolling hills, and the serene presence of two shimmering lakes. The trail meanders through this picturesque valley, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the reflective waters below.

There are signs everywhere that bathing is forbidden... The water is also pretty black from the moor.

Good circular route, thick planks with nails prevent sinking in the peat/bog and steel nails in the planks prevent slipping in wet weather.
