This cave is on private land. How could this be sold to a private individual!!? Only option seems to climb the stupid gate at the end of the bridge.

The rock chapel is on the left. It's also called the Cuevas de San Antonio. You have to be lucky to visit it. Special holidays (e.g., May 1 or August 24, World Tourism Day, or Monuments Day)

The River Genal, called a Natural Monument, is a short river in southern Spain, located in the Serranía de Ronda  , west of the province of Málaga. The river rises in Igualeja from a spring in a cave known as " El Nacimiento " and eventually flows into the Guadiaro River.

This cave originally served as a refuge for cattle. Being located at a considerable height with respect to the rest of the pinsapar, it provides a panoramic view of incredible beauty. The cave has a water pipe from which you can drink; however, keep in mind that there is only water in the rainy season.

The water from the Sierra de las Nieves flows into this cave, forming the Rio Grande.

The path from the monastery marked on Komoot is still closed in January 2022. A circular hike was therefore not possible. You have to go back the same way. The path is still worth it, as it offers beautiful views. The monastery itself was closed when we visited. Opening times were not evident.

Place to replenish water and strength during the route. Cool in summer and pleasant in winter with a sunny day. You can have a good toast and a coffee in the bar located next to the birth.
