4월 23, 2025, Lodge Lake
An effort was made here to create a varied lake with a path around. It is quite nice, but as everywher ein the city the feeling of 'artificial' is quite strong.

Lodge Lake was created in 1981 to prevent Loughton Brook flooding the downstream area. It now has a park area that is popular as a recreational hub, especially with the Trim Trail that goes around the lake. There is parking nearby, but no toilet.

Great Lake to run around, paths are a little bumpy but that doesn’t spoil the run

Tongwell Lake seems to be Milton Keynes’ very own swan haven. The path around the lake is easy to follow as it only takes around 30 minutes to walk the whole way round. At times it’s not possible to see the lake through the reeds and bushes but in the openings you can enjoy some nice views of nature. There’s a large island in the middle of the lake, so if you’re a birdwatcher we recommend bringing some binoculars to spot any birds over there.

A beautiful part of the wider Ouse Valley Park, Stony Stratford Nature Reserve is a great place to see breeding and over-wintering birds, as well as many dragonfly species. Created in 1979 from the gravel workings used in the building of the nearby A5, the reserve comprises five lakes and 57 acres (23 ha) of wet meadow. It is owned and operated by the Parks Trust. Two hides allow you to spot various bird species, depending on the time of year. Terns, oystercatchers and lapwings nest on the islands between March and June. It’s a good place to see a number of raptors, including kestrels, sparrow-hawks, buzzards and red kites. It is not uncommon to spot ospreys on autumn passage.

2월 12, 2021, Loughton Valley Linear Park
The floodplains of the River Ouse were protected when the modern town of Milton Keynes was built from the 1960s onwards. They formed the basis for a number of linear parks, of which Loughton Valley is one. The result is a long and thin park that runs along almost the entire western side of the town centre. Bridleways and paths wind their way through the park and there are a number of lakes, woodland areas and even an extensively excavated Roman villa.

The Guide to the Gardens describes the Palladian Bridge as follows: "The original is at Wilton [near Salisbury], put up in 1737 to the design of Lord Pembroke, the 'Architect Earl', and his assistant, Roger Morris. It was a jeu d'esprit in the Palladian manner, then fashionable, and fully original to the extent that it was quite different from any bridge by Palladio himself, and better. So great was the renown of this flawless minor masterpiece that two copies were made: at Stowe, very quickly; and at Prior Park [near Bath], somewhat later. This at Stowe was in existence by 1742. Adapted for carriages making the circuit of the grounds, it stands lower than its model, which is approached by steps, and thereby raised more beautifully above the water." http://faculty.bsc.edu/jtatter/pbridge.html
