This pond is nestled within the woodland of Benyon's Inclosure. There is an embankment with a track that runs across the pond offering a pleasant pathway to stroll out, take in the views, and observe the surrounding wildlife.

Our local NT place we go here often. Morgaston woodland walks out of the back gate where you will also find a hide overlooking wetlands. Secure bike parking limited. Suggestion attach to wooden fence by reception and we will keep an eye on it but can’t be responsible. Highlight for us in this house is the chapel. Lovely lake but rebuilding work to a bridge in progress at the moment

Thatcham Lake is a picturesque body of water located in the Thatcham Reedbed Nature Reserve. The lake is home to a diverse range of bird species, including reed warblers, bitterns, and marsh harriers, and hosts a network of trails where you can enjoy these beautiful species up close in their habitat.

Nice little spot to stop for a break.

Sprawling 17 sq miles (27 sq km) across the West Berkshire landscape, Thatcham Reedbed is a beautiful nature reserve. With lowland heathland, ancient woodland, reedbeds, rivers and streams, the area is thriving with wildlife such as tiny Desmoulin's whorl snails, 14 species of dragonfly and moorhen. The reserve is open at all times.

Even if it’s raining, the croft is still a great view.
