Opened in 1894, Central Park is an area of outdoor space designed for all to enjoy in the centre of Chelmsford. Backing onto the River Can, it has areas of grass for relaxing as well as formal planting. There's also a playground and cafe.

You can enjoy lovely views of Hanningfield Reservoir from this road on the south side. The reservoir is framed by beautiful woodlands and meadows, making it a favourite spot for walkers in the Essex area.

Writtle has a beautiful traditional village green. Complete with duck pond and Norman church, it's a picture-perfect place for a picnic. The village was once described as "one of the loveliest [...] in England, with a ravishing variety of ancient cottages"

It was more of a brown colour when I went past.

Enjoy a break here and admire the village pond. There’s a pub opposite too!

Pretty Essex village centred around the village pond. A lovely spot to stop for a breather or refreshment.

Good road surface with a lovely view of the reservoir from either direction. Good bird spotting opportunities.

Quaint village, site of a former royal castle, now just the earthworks left (sadly mostly obscured from view and on private property).
