A classic bothy on the Cape Wrath Trail, Knockdamph is an atmospheric place to visit or stay. There are two communal rooms with fireplaces in the downstairs and a small sleeping space in the attic.

Well maintained and interesting Bothy.

Superb large bothy. Great location and very easily accessible. You might have to rearrange some furniture to make space to sleep if it is busy.

Double storey bothy in fantastic condition.

Shenavall Bothy is one of my favourites especially having visited so many times. It has changed a lot in the fifty years I have known it, now quite a bit smaller than it originally was though undoubtedly more secure and in better condition. The views are stunning and is well positioned to climb the famous Fisherfield 6 (now sadly only 5) and of course the twin Corbetts, Beinn Dearg Mòr and Beinn Dearg Bheag which dominate the view to the north west.

Beautiful bothy!! It’s a perfect combination of bothy and museum. Lots of information about the history and restoration work. The midges were horrific when we were there at the end of May. Keep the doors closed at all times. The nearby stream is fast flowing, but quite peaty- I’d recommend taking a water filter. There’s a way down to the river bank, but it’s a little sketchy.

Fabulous Bothy! We stopped for a rest and a speedy hot chocolate. There’s no phone signal here, there’s a sign on the information board that says there’s a weak EE signal if you climb up the mountain behind the bothy. One of the rooms has an alarming amount of black mold - avoid that one!

The Glen Affric Youth hostel is an awesome adventure base. It's about 10 km from the Glen Affric car park, but once there you have access to loads of great running adventures. It's also on the Glen Affric Way long distance trail. Please do book in advance or at least check it's open. They shut for a week each month to give the staff time off and the hostel is also available for private hire, so it's not a guarantee stay.

Nice Bothy with 8 beds

A picturesque little bothy with plenty of space. Just of the path and not a long walk from the road, a good landmark and stopping point on the Cape Wrath trail or when ascending the nearby Munro. There is an upstairs and a small fireplace downstairs.

A wonderfully remote bothy in what is already known as 'Scotland's last wilderness' - the Knoydart peninsula. You can hike here in a day from the pretty village of Inverie.

Cycle-able from Glen Affric youth hostel on bike with chubby rubber (40mm upwards). Descent to Morvich is a beauty but you'll probably want bigger tyres for the chonk. There are plenty of big rocks and carrying. Bothy in really good condition with bunk beds. When we stayed, there were 5 others there and it was good craic.

Beautiful bothy amidst mountains of kintail. 2 rooms with bunks. Very remote. Very good.

Set amidst glorious Highland scenery, Glen Affric Youth Hostel is one of the most wonderfully located hostels in the country. This former stalking bothy today has a wind turbine and solar panels, providing it with the clean energy it needs to power its two private rooms and dorms. From its door are some superb Munros, including the magnificent Sgùrr nan Ceathreamhnan. The hostel also sits on the route of the Cape Wrath Trail and the Affric Kintail Way long-distance footpaths.

Camban is a bothy that provides something of a link between Kintail and Glen Affric. It's a popular shelter for weary hikers bagging the region's Munros – the area is renowned for its multi-summit ridge walks. There are two rooms that permit up to eight people and an open fire. As ever, in the case of a full bothy, always have a tent, just in case.
