Covering over 8,800 acres (3,560 ha), the Wash National Nature Reserve is the largest nature reserve in England. Its saltmarshes, mudflats and open skies are a treat for birders. Keep your eyes peeled for heron, shelducks, curlews, oystercatchers, dunlins, redshanks, skylarks and reed buntings.

We did a one hour walk from Pinecones camp site to watch the knot spectacular. Well worth the 5am start.

Enjoy magnificent views across the reed bed at Titchwell Marsh. There are some fantastic opportunities for bird watching here as the reserve is jam-packed with fascinating wildlife such as the Marsh Harrier, Bittern, Bearded Tit, and Avocet.

In the care of the RSPB, Snettisham is well known amongst birders for being a wonderful wader watching spot. Especially during the autumn and winter during high spring tides.
