This is a lovely trail that travels between the Grand Union Canal and Startop's End Reservoir via a green walkway. In the area you'll find sitting benches, beautiful grasslands and riverboats. Additionally a nearby birdwatching hide provides an excellent opportunity to observe local wildlife.

A really beautiful pond here within Pitstone Common, with a newly built (in 2010) platform. The pond has shrunk in size over the years, but it's still a lovely place to be, and in the autumn the colours of the leaves on the trees here are totally gorgeous, only adding to the effect of the place.

This church, built in 1868, is unusual for its architecture: it's positively Byzantine! The designed was the well-known ecclesiastical architect Francis Cranmer Penrose. Directly outside the church is the village's green, and a rather lovely pond, with strategically placed benches, obviously specifically designed for your weary legs!

This is a wonderful section of running along a gravel path that squeezes between the Grand Union Canal and Marsworth Reservoir. The views along this stretch are simply superb, they feature colourful canalboats, flowing reeds, and lakeside bathers making the most of the sunshine.

Chipperfield Common is a 117-acre (47 ha) area of former heathland that has developed into beautiful woodland since grazing stopped here in the 1930s. There are a quintet of ponds on the common, as well as eight ancient sweet chestnut trees. Evidence of a Neolithic history can be seen in the form of two Bronze Age burial mounds.

Beautiful views of the reservoir - usually as still as a duck pond. And if you're lucky you'll see some actual ducks too!
