Loch Garbad is a beautiful hill loch located at the southern side of the Isle of Arran. Grab your packed lunch out of your bags and enjoy a picnic at this remote and peaceful location.
Once considered Scotland's finest outdoor pool, Saltcoats Bathing Pond was built on the site of former saltpans in 1932. It has now been restored as a tidal pool to attract wild swimmers.
A great place to overnight though wake early as midges will begin to nibble the smallest bits of skin exposed outside your sleeping bags. You can ride down the beach for breakfast in Brodick rather than following the road.
From here you get wonderful views looking down onto Brodick Bay. The calm waters of the bay are ideal for swimming and there is alot of wildlife present too including seals, seabirds and other marine life.
An earth embankment dam, which was constructed by Paisley Corporation Water Works and opened in 1881, to supply drinking water to the town of Paisley. Today it is operated by Scottish Water.
