An Ice Age glacier carved this cirque lake out of the Buntsandstein. It was once used by the raftsmen as a swell pond to wash the felled trunks down into the valley with the accumulated water. Due to its pristine nature, the Glaswaldsee is one of the most beautiful, clear blue eyes of the Black Forest. The name of the lake comes from a glassworks that stood in the Seebachtal together with a hamlet in the 17th century. In earlier times, glass for the bottles of the Rippoldsauer Sauerbrunnen was produced there. Here you can go left and right with the raft to the Kneipp pool, which is not only fun for children 😊!

Here in Lossburg (as of June 2022) a new section is being created between Zauberland and Kinzigsee. It's a small water playground and, I think, an open-air stage. Let's see what will come of it, but it already looks very good.
