After the Blessed Virgin Mary, "Saint Mary Magdalene" is the most frequently mentioned woman in the New Testament writings. In theology, she is therefore also called the "Apostle to the Apostles." The feast day of Saint Mary Magdalene in the liturgical calendar is July 22.
