The 'Alpino con Mulo' is a memorial monument consisting of a granite base that forms a mountain peak, above which is placed a bronze statue group representing an Alpine soldier with his mule. At the foot of this is a broken cart wheel, also in bronze. The base bears the name of the sculptor and the year of creation. On the left, a bronze plaque records General Diaz's "Victory Bulletin."

Also called Porta d'Oropa, it was built in 1780, in place of an ancient medieval gate, no longer with a defensive function, but a celebratory one: in fact, it recalled the visit of King Vittorio Amedeo II and Queen Maria Antonia Ferdinanda of Spain to the city of Biella and the Sanctuary of Oropa which took place in the same year. The door has an arched structure and is made with exposed bricks. At the center of the arch there was originally the Savoy coat of arms which was chiseled in 1798, during the period of the French revolution.
