superb greenway along the Mayenne

Romanesque church that preserves superb medieval wall paintings, dating from the mid-13th century, depicting the life of Saint Vigor and the Resurrection of the Dead. Remarkable 17th-century altarpiece with marble and tufa columns, the work of Michel Langlois. Free admission.

This castle was built in the 10th century. Half a century later, the castle became a garrison castle. 400 years later, it served as a prison in the 18th century. In the middle of town, the castle gardens are worth wandering through for a quiet moment.

This superb castle deserves to be discovered. To take a picture or simply to admire its towers and its splendour. In its time, it was also the subject of one or two postcards.
