This waterfall, about 8 meters high, is located along the Saukkovaaran trail, in the middle of a protected forest area. The water cascades powerfully down a steep rock face and spreads out like a white fan over the rocks. The waterfall is most impressive at higher water levels, but even without much water, it's still a stunning sight.

Those who dare can climb up the eastern flank of the waterfall and will be rewarded with a magnificent view.

The hike during Ruska season (early to mid-September) is a dream. You have to plan enough time to stop, enjoy and take photos. Have fun.

The waterfall here is called Malla's Tears. And of course behind this name there is an alleged tragic love story between Malla and Saana, the two most famous mountains in the Kilipisjärvi area. It's best to ask a Finnish person about it in a hut; it's a magical story told around the fire in the stove in the hut!
