This is a quiet place in the woods where you can take a break and enjoy the wide-open views. Right beside the viewpoint is a simple cabin with a spot for a campfire, and you can use it all year long. Just be sure to pack out all your trash since there are no bins there.

The mine was in operation during 1940-1948, producing about 40,000 tons of white quartzite sand and gravel. There are two lean-to’s with fireplaces, firewood and toilet.

Next to the viewpoint, there is a cbin with a campfire site. The cabin can be used freely year-round. Please note that there are no trash cans in the shelter. Please take all your trash with you. Let's keep the area clean together.
