Strictly speaking, the "Old Castle" in Rodalben is not a real castle. Rather, the rock massif made of red sandstone is a prehistoric refuge castle, which was naturally protected by rocks and a rampart. The Graben-Wall system consists of three consecutive section walls and two ditches, which hikers can still get an idea of today. The facility is located directly on the Rodalber Felsenwanderweg and from the plateau of the old castle there is a beautiful view over Rodalben.

Beautiful mostly narrow path. At times you feel like you are in the jungle.
