Information about the "Countess's Chapel" The "Countess's Chapel" is also popularly known as the "Little Castle." This chapel is an unplastered sandstone building measuring approximately 3 x 3 x 4 m. The shell-shaped altar niche contains a wooden vespers group, behind which stands a simple wooden cross. The exact year of construction of the chapel is unknown, but around 1700, a brick shrine with a shell niche for the vespers group stood in place of the chapel. The Roman Catholic, listed branch church of St. Ägidius is located in Hagsbronn, a municipality in the town of Spalt in the Roth district (Middle Franconia, Bavaria). The building is registered as a listed building in the Bavarian Register of Historic Monuments under monument number D-5-76-147-222. Residents of the Roman Catholic faith are parishioners of St. Emmeram (Spalt) in the Großweingarten-Abenberg-Spalt-Theilenberg parish association in the Roth-Schwabach deanery of the Diocese of Eichstätt. Traditional half-timbered houses for drying hop cones. Like an open-air museum, only inhabited :-) Wonderfully impressive.
